When a person drowns himself in negative thinking he is committing an unspeakable crime against himself. ~ Maxwell Maltz

Birth of a God Box

Each god box is unique . They start from oak trees in Julian, California. But instead of being cut for fire wood they transform into a fine piece of art. The wood is brought down to my shop in Encinitas ,California, where I personally hand carve each individual box. They are sanded then finished with non-toxic Tung oil. Polished with organic soapstone, made up of pure carnauba wax and walnut oil. Each box is perfect in its imperfection. No two boxes are the same. What starts out looking like lump of wood, turns out to be an inspired piece of art. Its beauty is a gift of mother nature.

What is a God Box ?

A place to put a prayer, issues, good wishes to someone, or to unload anything that is troubling you. It has been used in different cultures, 12 step programs and various spiritual organizations

Recovery Quotes

For Today –

We had a new Employer. Being all powerful, He provided

what we needed, if we kept close to Him and performed

His work well. Established on such a footing we became

less and less interested in ourselves, our little plans and

designs. More and more we became interested in seeing

what we could contribute to life.

Recovery Quotes

For Today –

Each person is like an actor who wants to run the whole show;

is forever trying to arrange the lights, the ballet, the scenery

and the rest of the players in his own way. If his arrangements

would only stay put, if only people would do as he wished, the

show would be great. Everybody, including himself, would be

pleased. Life would be wonderful.

Recovery Quotes

For Today –  Here we ask God for inspiration, an intuitive thought or a decision. We relax and take it easy. We don't struggle. We are often surprised how the right answers come after we have tried this for a while.  -- Alcoholics Anonymous, page 13 *************************************************************************************Surrender is the last step in the seeking game. When the seeker reaches this hallowed spot, he can put down the burden of self and hand it over to God. His job is…See More

For Today -- To those who wish to secede from A.A. altogether, we extent a cheerfulinvitation to do just that. If they can do better by other means, we are glad. -- Twelve Concepts for World Service ************************************************************************* It doesn't interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I wantto know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away. I want toknow if you can be alone with yourself, and if you truly like the company…See More

Recovery Quotes

For Today – For thousands of years we have been demanding more than our share of security, prestige, and romance. When we seemed to be succeeding, we drank to dream still greater dreams. When we were frustrated, even in part, we drank for oblivion. Never was there enough of what we thought we wanted. In all these strivings, so many of them well-intentioned, our crippling handicap had been our lack of humility. We had lacked the perspective to see that character-building and spiritual values had…See More

Recovery Quotes

For Today – As we go through the day we pause, when agitated or doubtful, and ask for the right thought or action. We constantly remind ourselves we are no longer running the show, humbly saying to ourselves many times each day "Thy will be done." We are then in much less danger of excitement, fear, anger, worry, self-pity, or foolish decisions. We become much more efficient. We do not tire so easily, for we are not burning up energy foolishly as we did when we were trying to arrange life to…See More
