When a person drowns himself in negative thinking he is committing an unspeakable crime against himself. ~ Maxwell Maltz

Birth of a God Box

Each god box is unique . They start from oak trees in Julian, California. But instead of being cut for fire wood they transform into a fine piece of art. The wood is brought down to my shop in Encinitas ,California, where I personally hand carve each individual box. They are sanded then finished with non-toxic Tung oil. Polished with organic soapstone, made up of pure carnauba wax and walnut oil. Each box is perfect in its imperfection. No two boxes are the same. What starts out looking like lump of wood, turns out to be an inspired piece of art. Its beauty is a gift of mother nature.

What is a God Box ?

A place to put a prayer, issues, good wishes to someone, or to unload anything that is troubling you. It has been used in different cultures, 12 step programs and various spiritual organizations

Recovery Quotes

For Today –

I can not emphasize too strongly the point that this man does not go on a spree from

pure deviltry or desire. He often has important engagements or appointments or

decisions to make the following day, to which he has given serious consideration.

The situation cannot be duplicated in what we may call the "normal" or nonalcoholic

drinker, who is accustomed to…

For Today –

Time after time, this apparent calamity has been a boon to us,

for it opened up a path which led to the discovery of God.

Todays Recovery Quotes

For Today --To understand something more deeply requires that we be open to the ideas of others, willing to part with our present opinions. The program offers us many opportunities to trade in the understandings we’ve outgrown. Throughout our recovery we have discovered new interpretations of old ideas. And we will continue to expand our understanding.-- Timeless Wisdom ******************************************************************************************.. that is what learning is. You…See More

Todays Recovery Quotes

For Today –At this point1 the Cleveland Plain Dealer ran a series of pieces that ushered in a new period for Alcoholics Anonymous, the era of mass production of sobriety. Elrick B. Davis, a feature writer of deep understanding, was the author of a series of articles that were printed in the middle of the Plain Dealer’s  editorial page, and these were accompanied every two or three days by red-hot blasts from the editors themselves. In effect the Plain Dealer was saying, “Alcoholics Anonymous is…See More

Todays Recovery Quotes

For Today --Show him, from your own experience, how the queer mental condition surrounding that first drink prevents normal functioning of the will power. Don’t, at this stage, refer to this book, unless he has seen it and wishes to discuss it. And be careful not to brand him as an alcoholic. Let him draw his own conclusion.-- Alcoholics Anonymous, page 92 *******************************************************************************************It is a mistake to look too far ahead.
